Tuesdays and Country Music Lyrics

So, a long time ago, way back before February 04, 2008, there was the horror that was known as "Tuesdays in Purchasing". *insert dramatic scary music of your choosing*
The tales of woe could fill up a volume, but for some reason always happening on a Tuesday. Tuesday is thee day of the week when Murphy's Law and Satan rule our universe. They are moments that spawn country music songs.
Much like the movie "The Grudge" I am starting to believe that once exposed, it is your destiny. I am no longer in that Purchasing Department, or company even; but that Tuesday, he found me! Sneakey little buggar!!!! Now, you may be thinking that it is simply mind over matter. In my defense, and defense of the Tuesday Curse theory, I spent most of my day believing it was Monday.

From, hitting the mailbox with my new car, to apparently not saying anything correctly, to taking my cat to the 24 hour Vet clinic Dolly, Reba or Taylor could have her next hit out of my current Tuesday.

There are others out there. They know who they are. (Kelly, are you breaking into a cold sweat reading this?) They have tales such as this. Every group of people that are brought together share some type of bond, with some of us, it began on a Tuesday...

Manic Monday: Storm

I have always loved storms. They contain a magical reminder that we are never truly in charge of our surrondings. However I have recently discovered that I do not love them quite as much when I am home alone. I am unsure of why, but when the thunder starts to roll and I am home solo, I tend to sit in the middle of my bed.
There is a comfort in the knowledge that all storms, real or proverbial, always pass. No matter how long the rain seems to pour down on you, and no matter how loud and foreboding the thunder the sun peeks his head out again.

Manic Monday: Lick

Lick? Following the theme of yesterday's post, why does Prue feel the need to try and lick my legs when I get out the shower? Then lick the bottom of the shower stall? She always has fresh water. In fact, there are (3) fresh water bowls placed throughout my home. So, why I ask, daily; does she feel the need to try and lick my freshly showered ankles and calves. Everytime its the same thing, I prance about trying to keep her from licking my legs, all the while trying to reason with her (Yes, I know, I am trying to reason with a dog) and all the why she is prancing around me, trying to OUT prance me and win. *sigh* I wonder if the Dog Whisperer has been faced with issue yet?

The Furry Truth...

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive. ~Gilda Radner

I talk to him when I'm lonesome like; and I'm sure he understands. When he looks at me so attentively, and gently licks my hands; then he rubs his nose on my tailored clothes, but I never say naught thereat. For the good Lord knows I can buy more clothes, but never a friend like that. ~W. Dayton Wedgefarth

First and foremost, Oscar and Salem... what I am about to write in no way has any bearing in regards to how much I love you. In fact, in the world of cats you are both the best, however, your blog posting is saved for another day. So, please don't punish me by ruining anything in the house.

Today is a small tribute to Willow and Prue, the canines of my heart. For those of you who do not like dogs and/or animals I would suggest that you stop reading now, you won't understand.

There is unconditional love and understanding with them. Regardless of how long I have been out they greet me with the same enthusiasm as if I were a conquering hero, regardless if I had been gone 15 minutes or 5 hours.

The do not care what I look like, if my clothes are trendy enough, they do not use false flattery to get my attention.

When I am happy the readily go along for the ride, when I am crying, they stand guard and give comfort in their own doggy way.

There is a tremendous amount that I stand to learn, that everyone could and should learn, about the love, loyalty and trust that we receive from our animal companions. There is a truth in them that is to be cherished. Bravery that should be mimicked. Loyalty that we should strive for.

So, I raise the proverbial glass or water dish if you will, to Willow and Prue, a true blessing from heaven and my part of my proof in the Divine, may you have many years and many treats to come!
