Manic Monday-Two
Manic Monday: Two
My favorite story in the bible has always been Noah and his Ark. The animals all stepping up two by two. I have a few pieces of Noah's Ark art (say that one three times fast!) and just recently bought a framed print for my new living room. I waited months for the movie "Evan Almighty" to be released. Not only were the animals showing up done fabulousley, but I truly want God to be as Morgan Freeman depicted him.
Joan Baxter: You want to build a boat?
Evan Baxter: It might be something fun for the family. Go sailing on the lake. I don't know.
Evan Baxter: Be great in case it floods or something...
Joan Baxter: Maybe God meant a flood of awareness.
Evan Baxter: If that's true, I'm going to be so pissed.
God: Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?
I still like to think that the world is "two by two" and everyone has a perfect match created just for them. It is comforting. I really want there to be a rainbow after every storm.
