Pudge Peel

Members of my family had to make the hard choice to have their beloved dog, Pudge, put to rest. He was suffering from an auto-immune disorder that left him constantly in pain, with sores that would not heal and there was no hope of it ever getting better. None of the many treatments that they tried over the last year were able to help. He was one of the most sweet and loving companions there ever could be. My nephews are devestated and heartbroken having to say goodbye to their friend.
Along with his medical conditions, Pudge was discrimanated against by families in the subdivision and others because he was a Pit Bull Terrier.
*Animal loving rant about to insue, if you don't want to deal with it, click the nice X in the upper corner*
It is unfair to blame a breed for the mistakes of malicious and cruel owners and breeders. Pitbulls have gotten a bad reputation because they have been used for all the wrong reasons and the punishment for those crimes has generally fallen upon them. My sister was told that she should beware, Pudge was going to eat all the neighborhood kids. Really?! I have seen Chihuahua's that were nastier then Pudge ever would have been. Could Pudge have been trained to attack and kill? Absoltuley, but so could a Golden Retriever. As my nephew said "Hate the deed, not the breed" Pudges only crime was trying to be a lap dog at 80lbs. :)
On behalf of Pudge, My dog Willow who is half Lab and half Rottwieler; and all the Pits and Rotties that bear the blame and shame for the cruel humans that have abused them, please see a dog for who they are, not the media labels put on them. The below links are great resources for information on the breed, and what you can do to help.

Pudge, we will miss you horribly. We should all be so lucky to be as loyal and loving as you.
